GLENCOE d 93 NANGWARRY 23

IT was the start to the 2019 Mid South East netball season had Glencoe hoped for, with a convincing win over Nangwarry at home.

Glencoe’s new goalie combination of Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz worked well from the first whistle, while Nangwarry’s Tahlia Wilson and Carley Plonges had their work cut out for them, but worked hard all game and took advantage of the few rebound opportunities which came their way.

Centre Ebony Lawson ran hard all day for Nangwarry in the warm conditions, but was up against tough opponents in Ashlea Edwards and Donna Jeaschke, who came up with many timely intercepts through the centre court.

At half time both teams made changes, with Nangwarry veteran Cassie Dinnison on the court at wing attack.

Dinnison provided extra drive for the Saints, but in the end was overrun by Jordy Jones, who came on with fresh legs for the Murphies at wing defence.

Emalee Stocker was the focal point in Nangwarry’s goal circle, but had a tough day against Glencoe’s Caitlin Hentchke and Sarah Edwards, who did not give an inch all day.

Nangwarry fought hard in the warm conditions and had some good passages of play, but Glencoe was too strong all over the court to come away with a 93-23 victory
