Skeet shooters on target

STATE PRIDE: Mount Gambier shooter Liz Rymil will captain the state women’s team after her victory in the women’s high gun at the South Australian skeet championships in Adelaide last weekend.

A SELECTION of South East skeet shooters have exceeded at the South Australian skeet championships, held in Adelaide last weekend.

Representing the Eastern zone at the championship, Greg Kessegian, Kevin Mules, Michael Raper, Steve Zadow, Janette Densley and Joe Densley won the zone team shoot, with Zadow going on to win the champion of champions title.

Following their strong performance at the pinnacle event of the year, shooters from the Mount Gambier and Kingston Gun Club’s have achieved the chance to represent South Australia at the national championships.

Mount Gambier Gun Club member Ken Atkin, will represent South Australia in the five-man open team, with Greg Kessegian as first reserve.

Three female shooters from the South East will be part of the women’s state team with Liz Rymill, Deb McPherson and Janette Densley.

The trio are captained by Mount Gambier’s Liz Rymill who also won the overall women’s high gun event in Adelaide.

Two of the three state junior team members all hail from the Mount Gambier Gun Club after Doyle Yoannidis and Hannah Munro earned their selection, while Kingston Gun Club’s Kevin Mules shot his way into the South Australian veteran’s team.

These South East shooters will represent South Australia at the National Championships in Wagga Wagga in May.
