WHILE the weather cooled down late on Saturday, the action at the Borderline Speedway remained hot for the Tyson Perez Memorial 360 Allstars Sprintcars event.

A competitive field was assembled and those who attended were not disappointed, with a fast track and plenty of action across the night.

Luke Dillon claimed the A Main feature event with a classy drive as the race went from flag to flag without incident, except when Chad Ely came unstuck on the final lap.

The pace was on early, with a fast track, due to the heat of the day and the moister added.

Mark Caruso led the series heading to the Borderline Speedway and kicked his night off well with a win in the opening heat, while Brad Keller drove the Jack Gartner car to second place, with a fastest time.

But in the second heat Dillon was in a class of his own, easily claiming the victory to send a message to the rest of the field he would be tough to beat.

Heat three saw Ben Gartner with a fast lap, but it was Mitchell Smith who cleared out from the pack early and held on for a strong win.
Heat four saw Limestone Coast driver Scott Enderl with a solid performance.

Enderl skipped out to an early lead and went on to record a fast lap and the heat win.

The top six shootout ended up as a top five, with Caruso claiming the honours, from Dillon, Ely, Keller and Enderl to set the front of the grid for the 31-lap feature.

From there it was a fast and furious race, with no stops and plenty of passing along the way.

While Caruso looked set at the pointy end, Dillon soon showed his class and drove his way to the front.

The front runners had to fight their way through lapped traffic constantly as the pace continued for the full distance.

The fast racing surface meant a hectic pace from start to finish, with no respite for the competitors.

By the time the chequered flag fell Caruso had dropped off the pace a touch, with Dillon claiming the honours ahead of Brendan Quinn and Daniel Evans.

Keller brought the Gartner car home in fourth, while Caruso had to settle for fifth place.

With an impressive drive Enderl crossed the line in 11th place.
To add one final chapter to the night, with the chequered flag already waving for the front runners, Ely ended his run with an unceremonious roll over on the final corner.

According to event promoter Mandy Searle it was one of the most entertaining races this season.

In the wash up to the event the 10th running of the memorial event has already been locked in for the Borderline Speedway in 2020.
