GOOD DAY OUT: A Grade’s Helen Chilton, B Grade’s Julie McKenzie and C Grade’s Sue Ireland claimed the honours in their respective classes for the Millicent Golf Club’s par round last Wednesday.

ONCE again good scores were returned at the Millicent Golf Club last Wednesday, when a field of 18 women competed in a par round.

Helen Chilton amassed an impressive four-up to win A Grade from Sue Agnew, who followed closely behind with three-up and Alex Lambert came in third on two-up.

Julie McKenzie and Michele Smith both came in at one-up, with McKenzie winning the countback to take out the B Grade win.

Glenis Skeer finished all square to round out the podium.

There were only two competitors in C Grade and it was Sue Ireland who held the winning score with one-up, ahead of Barbara Sapiatzer.

The nine-hole competition was played on the back nine and was won by Chilton with three-up.

Nearest-the-pin on the par 3, third hole was Agnew, while no one hit the 13th green.

The C Grade second shot to the 17th was not won either.

Tomorrow the women’s AGM will be held at the clubhouse, starting at 9.30am.

It will be followed by a nine-hole ambrose competition, presentation of trophies for the winter season and an afternoon tea.
