Final position up for grabs

ATTACK: Tantanoola goalie Jami Walker will hope to serve her team well when it faces Hatherleigh in this week’s A Grade Mid South East netball preliminary final.

HATHERLEIGH and Tantanoola’s Mid South East netball teams will vye for a place in the A Grade grand final today when they clash in the preliminary.

Both sides consist of a blend of youth and experience and will want to use this to their advantage when they take the court.

Keston Green has been the dominant goalie for the Eagles and has shown she is more than capable of scoring for her side.

Maddie Pulmer will need to work hard to keep Tantanoola’s Olivia Fuller busy, as any rebounds will be snapped up quickly, Jami Walker will hope to make an impact under the net for the Tigers.

Kate Varcoe quietly goes about her role each week, working the ball from defence to attack for the Tigers.

Last week Hatherleigh’s Sarah Faulkner suffered an ankle injury, but it will not stop her from lining up on the weekend.

Kelsey Wight had a quiet game last week by her standards and rarely has two like that in a row.

That will mean young Tiger Victoria Lucas will need to be at her best.

Hatherleigh’s Maddie Redman will celebrate her 150th senior game and will have the job of keeping Emma Gould away from the post and limit her opportunities.

Based on season form the Eagles should get another chance at taking down Kalangadoo in the grand final, but the Tigers will make it tough.
