SARAH Lock has made history as the first East Gambier netballer to reach the 300-game milestone.

Lock played her 300th game at McDonald Park recently when the Bulldogs hosted reigning premiers Millicent.

She started her netball career with East Gambier Netball Club in the 13 and Under competition in 2002, as there were no 12 and Under, or 11 and Under competitions.

Lock has played every season since then, going through all the junior grades.

At 15 years old, she played several games when required in the B Grade competition and in 2006 – as a bottom age 17 and Under netballer – made her debut in A Grade, playing six matches.

In 2007, Lock played both 17 and Under and A Grade full-time, before becoming a senior in 2008.

Lock was a pivotal part of the Bulldogs’ A Grade side back then has continued to be.

She has represented Western Border Netball Association on a number of occasions throughout her career and has also been involved in the South East Netball Academy as a coach, enhancing her skills and passing them onto the juniors of both her club and the league.

She has been an active member of East’s netball committee and has taken on various coaching roles throughout her time with the Bulldogs.

Lock is a valued member of East Gambier A grade side and has played in the losing grand finals over the last two years, but still has the burning desire to achieve the premiership, which has eluded her to date.

A loyal player to her beloved Bulldogs, Lock is a strong goalie who loves the challenge of the long shot.
