IN a dominant display, Warriors have claimed the 2018 Mount Gambier Softball League grand final over Demons with an 8-0 result.

The game started with a cracking hit from Leyna Bruggemann to score Kate Telford and from then there was no stopping the Warriors side.

Warriors kept the game going with some exciting bunt plays from both Taylor Pearson and Emmerson Hann.

Some great pitching from Demons Anna Livingston helped keep the Warriors batting side to nil in the second innings, giving Demons some hope.

Some great batting and base running from Raquel Sneath was unfortunately over thrown by some strong fielding for Demons’ Cidy Manning.

Monica Payne and Tayla Wilson-Smith were the only two Demons’ batters able to fight through the Warriors fielding with a safe hits each.

Although Demons did get some solid hits through out the game, they were held back by some spectacular catches from both Imogen Walker and Clare Chaplin.

The Warriors side was strengthened further with three safe hits from Maddy Hann.

Towards the end of the game Demons began fighting through the Bruggemann’s pitching, but could not break through the sensational fielding from Nic Vause, who finished the game in style with a beautiful double play.

Bruggemann was voted most valuable player for her efforts.
