Bowls: Singles showdown

LOOKING TO DEFEND: Millicent Bowling Club’s Rod Gibbs will be out to defend his title when he contests the 2018 George Adams Invitation Men’s Singles this March.

THE annual George Adams Invitation Men’s Singles will be played from Tuesday, March 6 to Thursday, March 8 at the Mount Gambier RSL Bowling Club.

Among the 36 bowlers attending will be Tyson Wilson and Luke Day from Grange and Salisbury, who impressed last year with their enthusiasm and talent.

Last year’s winner, Millicent’s Rod Gibbs will also return in hopes of defending his title.

The event is organised in sections, with each bowler playing five games to 25-shots up.

The winners of each section and the next two best – eight bowlers in all – then play the elimination final rounds.

It is an intensely demanding competition that produces the finest of bowling skills and is sure to be an entertaining event.

Open Men’s Pairs

THE Open Men’s Pairs will be played on Thursday March 8, following the conclusion of the George Adams sectional play.

The event caters for the bowlers who have been eliminated from the George Adams event, along with any other bowlers who wish to compete.
