A TOP score was posted by Helen Stratford at the Blue Lake Golf Links last week, with her nett 69 enough to claim the Division 1 voucher.
However, it was not good enough to win the February monthly medal, with Division 2’s Carol Megaw finishing with a nett 67 to secure the honours.
A shot-gun tee off time of 7.30am was utilised in accordance with the women’s heat policy and players were greeted to pleasant conditions.
Sponsored by life member Judy Collins, the stroke format saw Stratford claim Division 1 with her 93-24-69, after surviving a count-back from vice captain Helen Myers with 96-27-69.
Other minor placing’s went to Dianne Perryman and Sue Agars, with both carding nett 70.
Nearest the pin winner was Annette Ford and Marlene Lingham was the winner of the novelty prize for least putts (29).
Megaw 100-33-67 was a clear winner and rounded out her prizes with the Division 2 voucher and the novelty prize for least putts (31).
Runner-up was Fay Price with nett 80.
Today’s competition is the fourth and final round of the summer trophy played in stableford format.
