Football: Southern Slugs seek senior footballers

THE Southern Slugs Football Club is on the lookout for a few South East legends to play in the Masters team, which will compete in the Shanghai Cup on Friday, May 18.

Filled with former AFL and SANFL players, the group is also looking for the country football league legends.

In last year’s overseas competition, the Masters side had six country players commit to the tournament.

For those interested an Under 35, Open Age team will also take part in the cup this year.

The Slugs are also looking for players for teams entered in the Bali 9’s Tournament, which will see Over 35’s, Over 47’s and Over 60’s battle in their respective age groups over the June long-weekend.

A season launch will take place today at the Hackney Hotel in Adelaide.

The event will feature community program Outside The Lock Room, while VFL/AFL and SANFL royalty Kevin Sheedy, Robert DiPierdomenico and Graham Cornes will entertain the guests.

The launch will begin at 7.30pm.
