MICHAEL Egan blitzed a field of 76 golfers at the Blue Lake Golf Links on Saturday, with a round of 43 points to claim the overall stableford honours.

Roger Gale found the windy conditions much to his liking in A Grade, as he returned to the clubhouse with 37 points to narrowly edge out Wayne Dunford by one.

Rounding out the placings was returning member Anthony Ellis on a count-back also finishing on 36 points.

Colin Tester won B Grade with a round of 40 points to win narrowly from Niki Collins, who was one shot further back.

After completing a short layoff from game, Sean Pudney came home in third with 36.

David Lock returned to the winning circle in C Grade with a steady round of 37, followed by club veteran Cyril Price, who finished second on a count-back with 36 points from Brian Dunn.

Tuesday competition

TONY Steen constructed a winning score on Tuesday as he returned with an excellent round of 77-14-63 nett to narrowly defeat early morning regular Frank Pinneri on a count-back.

Brett Perryman was one shot further back in third place with a round of 74-10-64 nett.

Ball run down winners were John Millhouse 66, Robert Ellis 67, Alan Cameron 67, Col Stratford 68 and Graham Johnson 68 nett.

The novelty for the least putts was won by Zac Williams and the winner of the pro-shot on the par three fifth hole was won by John Kamp.

Hole-in-one voucher jackpot: $1547.

Wednesday daylight savings competition

THINGS are heating up in the Daylight Savings nine-hole competition with only six weeks to go.

Last week it was Joel Feast from the Port MacDonnell Golf Club who claimed the win with a fine score of 23 points from Terry Earl, one shot back.

Setio Shanahan carded a round of 22 points to round out the placings.

Thursday night Super 3’s

LAST Thursday saw the final round of the Super 3’s and it was the team of Roger Doody, Smokey VonDuve and Brad VonDuve who played their way into this week’s final, along with the team of Sea Pudney, Andrew Clements and Adam Dunn.

It promises to be a great final, with the teams evenly matched and they will go head-to-head at around 5pm.

Those wishing to come out and watch can do so to add to the atmosphere of the final.

Final standings were Neal Doody (c) 12 points, Sean Pudney, Jason Knight and Ben Wilson 11.

Ella’s Purple Promise Golf Day

BLUE Lake Public Golf Links will join forces with ‘Raising Epilepsy Awareness’ in the form of a three per ambrose on March 4.

Registration is at 10am with an 11am shotgun start.

Included in the entry price a sausage sizzle will be available on the course, with fingerfood at the completion of play.

On the day there will be nearest the pins, long drives and a putting competition with raffles and auction items going under the hammer after the round of golf.

Those wishing to take part in the day can call the club on 8725 6198 to nominate your team on a day which promises to be a lot of fun.
