MOUNT Gambier RSL bowlers Veronica Opie, Jenny Bowering and Fleur Roachock, Gary Feast, Andy Ashby, Rex Heins, Graham Ellis, Michael Fox, Jason Kuring, Ralph Stafford, Deane Wilkinson, Chris Waugh and Robert Corner have been selected to play for Region 1 in the Country Round Robin.
The women will play at Payneham Bowling Club, while the men will do battle at Marion Bowling Club against the other 7 South Australian country regions.
The competition started yesterday and will run until Friday this week.
Men’s Country Carnival
DESPITE a strong showing from Mount Gambier RSL members at the Men’s Country Carnival in Adelaide, no bowlers advanced through to the finals on the last day of competition.
Chris Waugh’s team reached the knockouts in the Fours, while Gary Feast, Deane Wilkinson, Glenn Wright and Andy Ashby managed to get just as far in the singles.
Ian MacIntosh, Rex Heins and Glenn Wright’s teams also reached the knockouts in the pairs.
However, no bowler was lucky enough to reach the finals.
