THE Limestone Coast Women’s Football League continues this weekend, with Round 2 of the 2018 season set to provide plenty of entertainment.

Round 1 saw some interesting results, with last year’s premiers South Gambier going down to newcomer Kybybolite by seven points.

West Gambier struggled to score against another newcomer in Kalangadoo, while the re-formed All Stars – now based out of Glencoe – found the going tough against East Gambier.

But the big news from the round was the massive 11.6-72 scoreline Millicent posted against a struggling North Gambier.

The Saints certainly stamped their authority on the competition, but the Tigers are struggling for players this season, so it will be interesting to see how this weekend pans out.

The games are set down for Malseed Park on Sunday, with Millicent facing Glencoe in the opening clash at 1.30pm.

While the All Stars could only manage one goal and four minor scores against the Bulldogs last week, they may prove more competitive against Millicent than North did.

Having said that, the Saints’ goal kicking power would surely be the envy of the league so far.

They were well served by Kristie Rowe who bagged four majors, while Olivia Fuller managed three.

Singles were shared between Lucy Barber, Kelsie Wilkinson, Jami Walker and Carly Knaggs, making a tough proposition for any defensive line.

The Saints would be clear favourites to claim the points in that clash.

The remaining games would be harder to predict an outcome, with East and South to face off at 2.40pm.

The Demons could only conjure up one major and one minor score last week against Kybybolite, while the Bulldogs found four goals and three behinds, giving the favouritism heading into the clash.

Kalangadoo and Kybybolite kick off at 3.50pm and should provide an interesting spectacle.

Both sides found the big sticks last week on a couple of occasions and it should provide the closest contest of the day.

The final game between West and North kicks off at 5pm and is again a tough one to predict.

While the Tigers failed to bother the scorers at all last week, they did face the might of Millicent.

Up against Kalangadoo, the Roos could only manage one behind, leaving the door open for either side to record their first win of the season.
