Division 1

Mount Gambier Red 103/16 d Naracoorte RSL 44/0

MOUNT Gambier Red stamped its authority on the Lower South East Bowling Association’s Saturday Open Pennant competition when it more than doubled Naracoorte RSL’s score on its home deck.

The eventual winners welcomed their opponents to their greens.

However, Naracoorte RSL struggled to adjust to the windy conditions and as a result were soundly beaten on all three rinks.

Gary McIntyre, Gary Hocking, Peter Radley and Tony Bowditch won 38-13 over Greg Mark’s four, while Tim Radley, Terry Bruhn, Brad Errock and Tony Renzi easily accounted for David O’Shaugnessy’s side 34-14.

John Reppin, Bryan Vorwerk, Peter Reppin and Greg Carpenter finished 31-17 to defeat Jon Buckley and his team, which resulted in a comfortable overall victory.

Division 1

Millicent 92/14 d Mount Gambier Blue 51/2

MILLICENT was too good on its home deck for Mount Gambier Blue on Saturday, winning all but one rink by the end of play.

Brian Francis, John Hughes, Gary Widdison and Leanne Hentschke were the only combination to claim a win.

The four made a come-back late in the game to minimise the overall deficit, but it was not enough to contest for the overall victory.

The sides skippered by Kym Jones and Jeff England were no match for their Millicent opponents.

Division 2

Penola 85/15 d Mount Gambier 44/1

A ROAD trip to Penola did not end the way Mount Gambier had hoped.

The visitors went down by a significant 41 shots by the end of the day.

Perria Davis’ rink were competitive and finished with a draw.

However, Mount Gambier’s other two rinks were easily defeated.

Division 3

Mount Gambier RSL Red 83/14 d Mount Gambier 60/2

MOUNT Gambier were competitive on two rinks, but it was not enough to claim the points from Mount Gambier RSL Red.

Both George Kuhl and Carlo Bertetic skippered their teams to draws.

However, John Kentish’s loss was enough to give Mount Gambier RSL Red the upper-hand at the end of play.

Mount Gambier 84/15 d Robe 57/1

A SOLID 27-shot victory to Mount Gambier was a highlight of the club’s weekend with Robe failing to contest.

Ron Kuhl and Kevin Mcgrath’s teams both claimed victories, while Milton Chant’s four managed a draw.
