THE Mount Gambier Bowls Club recently held its club championship singles and pairs events.

The men’s singles final saw a match-up between Peter Reppin and Brad Errock.

This saw Errock the victor by a single shot, after Reppin had led for most of the match.

To make the final Reppin defeated Jeff England, Peter Radley and Terry Seiler, while Errock bested Ron Kuhl, Steve Farrell, Kym Jones and Bryan Vorwerk.

Errock only hit the lead after he had scored 18 shots.

He drew well, but Reppin was able to fight his way back into the game to level the scores at 24-all.

In an epic finish Errock managed to hold the shot and win 25-24, hence claiming his third singles title.

Another strong stint saw Versluis in front 22-16, but Gruar did not give up and rallied to take the lead.

Winning the last eight ends in an impressive display, Gruar took home her first singles title.

Men’s Pairs

THE pairs competition was played as a sectional event.

The semi finals saw Ian VonStanke and Darryl Raneberg play against Jeff England and Geoff Collins, with the close game resulting in Vonstanke’s progressing to the final.

In the other semi final Bryan Vorwerk and Greg Carpenter had a comfortable win over Peter Radley and Jim Butchart.

The decider saw Vonstanke and Raneberg in fine form as they were able to claim the win over Vorwerk and Carpenter.

They secured the title by a total of four shots.

Women’s Pairs

CATHY McCarthy and Leanne Hentschke teamed up for a good win over Rebecca Gruar and Kristy Errock in the fight for the women’s pairs title.
