IT was another good result for the Mount Gambier Bowls Club across town, when the Division 1 Blue team visited Mount Gambier RSL Blue for a narrow win.

Winning on two rinks for the day, Tim Radley, Judy Saint, Steve Farrell and Kym Jones finished in front of Greg Whitehead’s team 30-26.

Ray Hutchesson, Beryl Versluis, Geoff Collins and Jeff England also claimed victory, as they accounted for Srawb Masters’ rink 23-19.

Leanne Henschke’s four were unfortunate in their match, going down to Glen Wright’s combination 19-26, but the team had done just enough to for the overall win.

Mount Gambier was able to sneak in by one shot to take home the points for the round.

Division 2

THE Division 2 side also had a meeting with a ladder-leading RSL Red team.

However, the Mount Gambier hosts were able to claim the overall win in another nail-biting one-shot finish.

Eddie Otter, Tony Prugo, Bob Cranwell and Darryl Raneberg won their rink with a score of 30-25, while Ian VonStanke’s team managed a 25-all draw.

A four-point loss to Perria Davis’ team saw the final margin of 25-29 just enough to get the host over the line.

Division 3

Mount Gambier 87/16 d Millicent Red 63/0

Millicent Red was no match for Mount Gamiber’s Division 3 team on Saturday.

Ren Davis, Steve Smith, Rex Klaassens and George Kuhl won their game by a convincing amount, 37-18.

A closer match-up saw Ron James, Dianne Harris, Bill Duncan and John Kentish finish in front, 25-23.

Another tight clash was had by Lindsay Moyle, Nelda Earl, Don Fraser and Carlo Bertetic, but they were able to get over the line by one shot, 23-22.

Division 4

Millicent 100/14 d Mount Gambier 58/2

MOUNT Gambier’s only loss on Saturday was in the Division 4 clash played in Millicent.

Peter Clark, David Rac, Kevin McGrath and the returning skipper Scott Wilson flew the flag for Mount Gambier as they won on their rink, but it was not enough to prevent Millicent from taking the points.
