Warriors 16 d Wanderers 6

WANDERERS was no match for Warriors in the first Mount Gambier Softball Association match of the year.

Warriors posted an impressive 16 runs by the end of play as opposed to Wanderers six.

Being the first game back after the Christmas and new year break, players took time to return to their form.

Both teams started slowly in terms of batting and fielding, but it was Warriors who took less time to take control of the game.

Impressive batting and fielding from Raquel Sneath was followed up by great players from Taylor Pearson and Warriors were on their way to a victory.

They picked up their pace late with some solid pitching and fielding from Emily Hart and did not look back.

There was little Wanderers could do as they simply struggled to match their opponents standard of play.

In the end it was Warriors who claimed a solid 10-run victory.

Concordes United 10 d Concordes White 2

CONCORDES United took the win over its sister side Concordes White.

The eventual deficit of eight runs was due to United’s dominance with the bat.

Linda Dodds managed three safe hits to give United confidence.

Concordes White managed seven safehits for the game, but added just two runs to the scoreboard due to solid fielding from their opponents.

As a result, United took the overall honours.
