QUEENSLAND driver Robbie Farr claimed the A-Main honours in Saturday’s USA v Aus International Sprintcars event at Murray Bridge Speedway.

After qualifying a respectable seventh in the time trials, Farr cut through the field in his heats to secure pole position going into the feature race.

With the Queenslander holding the lead until the chequered flag, it was South Australia’s Luke Dillon who crossed the line in second after starting from third position on the grid.

Fellow South Australian Brock Hallett rounded out the podium, after he moved his way up from a sixth-place start to finish third.

Farr finished first in both of his heat races, after starting third and fourth in heat two and five respectively, to earn his spot at the head of the pack.

Western Australia’s Jason Johnson also started on the front row of the grid, beginning the final in second position.

However, by the end of the race Johnson had dropped to fourth, with Dillon and Hallett seeing him miss out on a podium finish.

Mount Gambier drivers Jake Tranter and Scott Enderl were also among the field, with the two unable to make a claim in the top 10 at the end of the night.

For Tranter it was a case of an unlucky malfunction in the time trial which spelled disaster early in the night.

His car jumped out of gear on turn four of his first lap, which saw him roll across the line for a time of 13.391, putting him at the back of the field.

This resulted in Tranter playing catch-up for the remainder of the event.

Starting from the back of the grid in heat two, he was able to move from seventh to fifth by the end of the race.

Tranter’s second race was in heat five, where he put on an impressive display to finish in third from another seventh-place start.

This saw him qualify in 15th position for the A-Main.

However, despite making up some ground he remained out of reach from the top 10, with an eventual 12th place finish.

Enderl had similar luck on the night, as he qualified 16th in the time trials, but he was unable to make up any ground during his heats.

Starting from sixth position in heat three, he dropped to seventh before the finish line.

Heat six saw Enderl start from pole position, but once again he lost ground throughout the race to finish the stint in third.

Qualifying for the A-Main, Enderl was unable to better his 16th place on the grid, crossing the line in the same position.

In the B-Main Jessie Attard put on an impressive display to win the race after starting at the back of the field in fifth on the grid.

He was followed by pole-getter Ryan Jones and Ricky Maiolo, while Kayla Green finished fourth to secure the final spot in the feature race.
