THE Mount Gambier RSL Bowling Club held both its men’s and women’s Championship Singles eliminations on the weekend and have now reached the finals.
The men started on Saturday and bowled until the extreme heat forced the event to be completed on the following day.
On Sunday, in far more pleasant conditions, each of the five men’s elimination rounds were completed.
The end of the day saw Gary Feast and Andy Ashby the bowlers to beat, with the two set to face off in the final Friday.
Both bowlers are at the top of their game and claimed some big scalps on their way to the final.
It will be an interesting match-up, with the first-time finalist taking on the seasoned performer.
In the women’s competition Fiona Pearson will play Kym Franklin in the decider, which will be played the following Friday.
Neither of these relatively new bowlers have won the club championship and both will be eager to claim the title.
