Volunteer of the month: Heath Case

MONTHLY HONOURS: Mount Gambier and District Cricket Association’s Heath Case has been awarded with SACA’s volunteer of the month award, which will see him attend a recognition ceremony at Adelaide Oval with the other volunteers at the end of the season.

MOUNT Gambier and District Cricket Association’s (MGDCA) Heath Case has been recognised as December’s volunteer of the month.

The award, which is given by the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA), will see Case receive a signed WBBL shirt, along with an invitation to the volunteer recognition ceremony at Adelaide Oval at the end of the season.

Case has played cricket for the Yahl Cricket Club for 34 years and has been a committee member for 20.

He has coached junior teams at Yahl for the past five seasons and is a hardworking, long-serving volunteer who has organised and participated in a variety of club fundraising activities and working bees.

A playing member of inter-association cricket, Case also coordinates the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 inter-association competitions in Mount Gambier and is the junior president of the MGDCA.

Committed to driving the new junior formats in his region, Case has also coordinated junior cricket trials, as well as being a long-time promoter and supporter of cricket as a sport for girls and women.

“Heath thoroughly deserves this recognition for his service, contribution, commitment and passion to his beloved Yahl Cricket Club, Mount Gambier and Districts Cricket Association and the South East Cricket Association,” country cricket coordinator Brendan Murphy said.
