LSEBA: Mixed results for Port MacDonell Open Pennant teams

Division 1

Naracoorte 87/14 d Port MacDonnell 57/2

PORT MacDonnell’s Division 1 Open Pennant team travelled to Naracoorte on Saturday, where the hosts proved too strong.

Only able to win on one rink, the Bay returned home empty handed for Round 11.

Division 2

Port MacDonnell 93/14 d Mount Gambier 39/2

DIVISION 2 hosted Mount Gambier on Saturday, recording a solid win over its guests.

Rod Sutton, Don Forbes, John Broadbent and Ron Cox were all over Ron James, Ray Hutchesson, Paul Kovaleff and Peter Clark, to finish with an impressive 46-7 result.

Jan Dowdell, Barrie Schmidt, Kelvin Butler and Bart Lethlean were unable to follow the trend as they went down by six shots to Eddy Otter, Jim Butchart, Bob Cranwell and Daryl Raneberg with a score 21-15.

However, the third rink of Bruce Bain, Reg Gurney, Robin Bilney and Reg Fisher had a 32-11 win against Brian Francis, Gary Burke, Kristy Errock and Peria Davis to see their team across the line for the overall honours.

Division 3

Mount Gambier RSL Blue 95/16 d Port MacDonnell 39/0

THE Division 3 team went up against the Mount Gambier RSL Blue team, where it suffered a heavy loss.

Losing on all three rinks, the RSL proved too strong on the day.

Division 4 Blue

Port MacDonnell 45/12 d Millicent Green 43/2

THE Division 4 competition saw Port MacDonnell take on the Millicent Green team in its Round 11 clash.

In a tight match, the Bay was able to claim a two-shot win over its opponent to take home the points.
