Wanderers 13 d Concordes United 7
WANDERERS outplayed Concordes United in the recent round of Mount Gambier softball, eventually taking the honours 13-7.
Jo Hart and Emma Facey were damaging with the bat to have Wanderers off to a flying start.
Majority of the team was able to get on base, which allowed Wanderers to add 10 runs to the board.
On the other hand, Concordes United struggled to get on base and were quickly put out by Wanderers.
However, Concordes United stood up to the challenge later in the game and held Wanderers to just one safe hit leaving the score at 11-2.
Concordes United then stepped up with the bat.
Codie Jones managed a triple, while a single for Erin Wilson also contributed to Concordes United’s additional two runs on the scoreboard.
However, Wanderers proved too strong in the final dig, managing six safe hits.
Impressive batting by Emily and Tracey Tzioutioukalaris allowed Wanderers to take the game 13-7.
Demons 10 d Concordes White 3
DEMONS were too good when it battled with Concordes White on Saturday.
The two sides started evenly, with the scores close for the opening few innings.
However, it was not long before Demons stamped its authority.
Good batting allowed the eventual winners to claim the advantage and Concordes White was left wondering what could have been.
Due to impressive pitching and a home run from Anna Livingston, Demons enjoyed a seven-run victory at the end of play.
Mount Gambier Softball Association will now take a break over the Christmas and New Year period, kicking off again on January 13.
