BLUE Lake Golf Club hosted its 12th annual Holden Scramble on Sunday in adverse conditions, with players having to contend with strong winds.
That did not stop some red-hot scores and it was the local team of David Dowie, Steve Dwyer, David Goldspring and Scott Manning who led the way with a fine score of 62 – 9 5/8 -52 3/8 nett to win by the narrowest of margins.
Only one-eighth of a shot back was the combination of Jonathon Whennan, Jason Clausen, Adam Jones and Andrew Schubert with a score of 62 – 9 4/8 – 52 4/8.
It appears both teams will contest the state final next year in March.

Nearest-the-pins went to Richard Kuhn on the second hole, Kynan Davey on the fifth, Richard Humphries on the 14th, Mark Bouchier on the 16th and Courtney Handford for the women on the fifth.
