Croquet is back

FRIENDLY COMPETITION: Penola Croquet Club gala day winners and runners-up Helen Hutchesson, Barry McBride, Kevin Geyer and Margaret Russell.

THE South East croquet season is back in swing with players from Naracoorte, Millicent and Penola participating in the well-supported pennant competition.

Penola Croquet Club has had a win against Naracoorte 1 and a loss, on count back from Millicent 2.

Penola hosted a successful gala day on Saturday, October 21 with 28 players attending from Horsham, Millicent, Naracoorte, Mount Gambier.

Winners of the association section were Kevin Geyer from Horsham with runner-up Helen Hutchesson from Millicent.

In the Aussie competition, Margaret Russell, also from Horsham, took out the winning spot and Barry McBride from Mount Gambier, followed closely in second place separated by only one hoop point.

Twilight croquet has also begun on Thursday nights at 6pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along and have a go at golf croquet.

All equipment will be provided and coaching is available for all attendees.
