Seniors channel skills into pet project

THRIVING COMMUNITY: Shirley Walters, Liz Richardson (volunteer), Hazel Fry, Natalie Zwar, Celia Malcolm, Zelma Hume, Cindy Crozier and Ethel Wombwell celebrate the fundraising achievements.

FROM cooking to knitting, St Mary’s Aged Care Facility residents remain enthusiastic about supporting the community, raising more than $500 for the South East Animal Welfare League.

Since 2013, a tight-knit group of residents has merged together to raise money for worthy causes, creating traditional items for sale.

“This is our fifth year running and it is only once a week over a six week period, but we have sold-out every time,” St Mary’s lifestyle coordinator
