Elderly man arrested over public exposure

A CASTERTON man who exposed himself to a member of the public near Mount Gambier’s Valley Lake precinct was arrested on Friday.

The 71-year-old man “flashed” in front of a member of the public walking in the area who then reported it to the police.

Limestone Coast Police officer in charge Superintendent Phil Hoff condemned the action of the elderly man.

“ People that flash themselves for their own gratification have very little concern for what impact that might have on the person who witnessed it,” Supt Hoff said.

“ Thankfully in this instance, the person had the presence of mind to report it to the police and we were able to respond swiftly and detect the offender in the vicinity.”

The man was reported for indecent exposure and will appear in court at a later date.
