OPINION: Seaweed Confusion

By Russ Johnson

THE Border Watch reported last week on an issue raised by several coastal identities, both commercial and private, relating to the relocation of rotting and foul smelling seaweed.

I might be a little simple and may have missed something, but this seems to do nothing but move the problem from one set of noses to another, just a bit further down the coast.

How this move solves the problem is beyond me.

As suggested in one of the mentioned articles, utilising the rotting seaweed and turning it into something useful like garden mulch or fertiliser seems to offer a solution to the problem that would satisfy all concerned.

Or does that make too much
