Describe your music in three words: “Modern, pop and emotional.”
Bree Hansen has only been doing music for just over a year and is already doing big things.
Starting out singing with her dad, Trev, in local band Stamina at the Longriders CMC jam sessions, Hansen said music was a dream from a young age.
“I have wanted to be a musician ever since I was a little girl,” she said.
“I communicate my feelings through music and I absolutely adore it.”
Hansen’s musical influences vary, with her main musical influence being Billie Eilish.
“I adore everything about her and her music,” she said.
Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, and Melanie Martinez are also notable influences for her as an artist.
Of her live performances, a highlight for Hansen was at the South Eastern Hotel at a jam session, where she sang Fever by Elvis Presley.
“When the song started everyone started clapping to the beat and sang along with me. I felt so happy,” she said.
“I loved that I could make everyone feel included.”
Hansen is currently working with other local musicians on a couple of original tracks.
On Battle of the Bands, Hansen said to expect a variety of tracks from her set.
“I’ll have you bopping your head to a catchy tune or two, and I might have you crying with some beautiful covers.”
