The Penola community came out in force to prove they live in the state’s best ag town when the 2024 Ag Town of the Year judges came through.
Judges toured the area before they attended the the Penola Showcase where community groups, schools and businesses had displays showcasing the best of Penola.
There was farm equipment, truck, product tasting, and even livestock displays.
George the Farmer made and appearance and there was a demonstration of antique shearing techniques.
Penola, along with Burra and Kimba are vying for the top spot in the Ag Town of the Year competition, with the winner expected to be announced on October 24.
