Grain Producers SA (GPSA) is excited to announce its annual general meeting (AGM) will be held in the South East for the first time.

Growers are urged to attend the AGM at the Bordertown Community Centre in September.

GPSA chair John Gladigau highlighted the significance of holding the AGM in the South East, emphasising the importance of connecting with grain producers in their own communities.

“It’s crucial for GPSA to continually engage with grain producers in their own backyards, providing them with opportunities to interact with the Board,” he said.

“While we last held our AGM regionally at Freeling in 2020, this marks the first time we’ve held it in the South East.

“The GPSA board has been very focused on ensuring we hold as many meetings as we can regionally, to engage with grain producers right across the state.

“Last year, for example, we held a board meeting at Minlaton on the Yorke Peninsula and this year we’ve implemented a series of Coffee Catch Ups as another form of engagement.”

Mr Gladigau said GPSA would be hosting a dinner following the AGM, with all South Australian grain producers invited.

“I’d encourage you to attend the AGM to hear about GPSA’s successes over the past 12 months and to have a chat with other farmers from regional SA about how the season is progressing,” he said.

Mr Gladigau added it had been a very busy year for GPSA, with the majority grower backed Grain Industry Fund and Grain Industry Research and Development Fund reforms, advocacy wins on the Harvest Code, the Worst Grain Road in Upper Yorke Road receiving funding, hosting the first Spray Forum in Freeling, relaunching a refreshed Grain Producer magazine and much more.

“There’s a lot to reflect on and discuss and plenty more on the horizon as we look towards the 2024 harvest and into 2025,” he said.

The AGM will be held on Tuesday, September 10, at the Bordertown Community Centre, with voting registrations commencing at 3.30pm and the meeting at 4pm.
