GIMME A Sec is the latest release from Mount Gambier/Berrin based hip hop artist and singer Nic Beare aka Esketamine.

Following the release of his EP The Setlist and recent success winning two rounds of Beer and BBQ Untapped, Beare is still staying in the zone focusing on bringing out new music.

Like most things music for the artist, Beare said the writing process for the track came to him easily.

“Honestly I was just looking on YouTube at different instrumentals people had made and when I found the one I used for this song, it just came into my head,” he said.

“I think I wrote all the lyrics within half an hour.”

Gimme A Sec is a step away from Beare’s usual vibe which is displayed in the feeling of The Setlist.

“Most of the songs on that were more rapping about good things and change, whereas this song focuses on a toxic relationship,” Beare said.

Beare said while it’s always a challenge to record and edit vocals, he thought he was getting the hang of it pretty well and he was happy with the final product.

While the track is a standalone release with no plans for another EP or album just yet, Beare said he hoped to be back on stage as soon as possible.

“I miss the feeling of being up there and having a crowd so hopefully I can feel that again soon,” he said.

“I just plan to keep making more music and praying that everyone can enjoy it.”

Beare confirmed there were a few things in the works, but said things were yet to be announced.

Gimme a Sec will be released on August 15 – follow Esketamine on socials for the pre-save link.
