THE District Council of Robe has made cash donations and shown in-kind support to several upcoming local events for how they benefitted the region and the general community.

The council will aim to show continued support for local businesses and tourism for the area along with three events which will be receiving additional support.

The events include the Robe Motorsports Club’s South Australian Motocross State Title Round, the Robe Beer Festival and the Limestone Coast Marine and Adventure Show, formerly known as the Robe Boat Show.

The funding for the Motorsports Club enabled the provision of essential first aid response services during the event, which was scheduled at the Sandy Lane track on June 29 and 30.

The council also donated a cart of surplus road rubble for maintenance to the clubs’ grounds, which held an estimated in-kind support of $2000.

The Robe Beer Festival recently set their returning date of October 26 for 2024, while the District Council of Robe provided an in-kind sponsorship of $2000 to go towards road closures and waiving hire fees.

With the recent decision to rebrand the Robe Boat Show to the Limestone Coast Marine and Adventure Show, the event has also been reorganised to fall on the 2025 Australia Day long weekend.

Additionally, the District Council of Robe has provided a sponsorship with a value of $2750 to the adventure show.

District Council of Robe Mayor Lisa Ruffell said all three events greatly served the Robe township’s tourism industry and its community.

“Supporting these events demonstrates our commitment to enhancing Robe’s vitality, attracting visitors, and boosting local businesses,” Ms Ruffell said.

Each event, from motorsports to beer festivals and the newly envisioned Marine and Adventure Show, enriches our community life and celebrates our unique heritage.

“We are proud to invest in these opportunities that not only entertain but also stimulate our local economy and foster community pride.”
