STUDENTS without access to internet may be eligible for a free NBN set up in their home.

The School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) has extended their offer after an initial 12 month commitment.

The period in which a family can nominate to receive a free service is up to December 31, 2024 with the free free services now being offered until December 31, 2025 for all existing and new families.

Households might be eligible if there is a school aged child living in the house, and the household is not already connected to the internet, or the connection is unreliable.

There are currently 2 internet options for eligible families; the Australian Government’s School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) and the Student Home Internet Program (SHIP).
