Best Selling Australian author Victoria Purman will again be visiting the Limestone Coast for the tour of her latest book The Radio Hour.

Ms Purman said the book was inspired by her work in radio and she hoped it would appeal to the largest readership in the country – women over 45.

“Particularly for nostalgic reasons, remembering Blue Hills and those old radio days,” she said.

The book, set in 1956, focuses on 50-year-old secretary turned serial ghost writer Martha Berry as she battles with an egotistical and erratic young producer without a clue, a conservative broadcaster frightened by the word ‘pregnant’ and a motley cast of actors with ideas of their own about their roles in the show.

Ms Purman will host three free events around the region:

– Wednesday, May 15, Naracoorte Library 1.45pm for 2pm

– Wednesday, May 15, Mount Gambier Library 6.45pm for 7pm

– Thursday, May 16, Millicent Library 10.15 for 10.30am
