Local on board inaugural First Nations Voice to Parliament

VOICE: Danni Smith received the most number of first preference votes with 24.2 per cent for Region Four.

MOUNT Gambier/Berrin and First Nations resident Danni Smith has secured a position in the inaugural South Australian First Nations Voice to Parliament.

Ms Smith received the most number of first preference votes with 24.2 per cent for Region Four.

Other successful candidates include Lisa Rigney, Rob Wright, Sheryl Giles, Eunice Aston, Darryle Barnes and Tim Hartman.

Ms Rigney and Mr Barnes both received six per cent of votes while Mr Wright received 9.8 per cent, Ms Giles received 11.6 per cent, Ms Ashton received 13 per cent and Mr Hartman received 9.1 per cent.

The total number of formal votes was 285 with 13 votes exhausted.

Region Four includes the South East, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.
