SA Voice to Parliament results

RESULTS for the inaugural South Australian Voice to Parliament will be announced next week.

The Voice to Parliament was introduced last year before the national referendum and aims to provide an advisory board from across the state on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Limestone Coast was included in Region Four which had a total of 14 candidates.

Region Four also included the Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.

There were 113 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who were declared as candidates in the election with 32 polling booths opening last weekend.

There were also more than 50 mobile polling locations established acrosst he state and 13 early voting centres.

According to the Electoral Commission South Australia, about 55 per cent of the candidates were female with the Central region having the most candidates at 41.
