Cake decorator Rhonda Morris brings her workshop and 36 years of decorating knowledge to Mount Gambier/Berrin on Saturday February 24.

The workshop, run by the South Eastern Cake Designers, is for cake decorators of all levels, aimed at anyone who might be interested in learning some new tips and tricks for the presentation on top of their cakes.

During the workshop people will learn skills such as arranging flowers and leaves around a hoop, which Ms Morris said was something more modern, and different.

She will also demonstrate how to make some small dog toppers which she said were quick to make and very cute.

Cake decorating has been an interest for most of her life, starting back when she was in school.

Things kept building from there and ten years ago she started up her own business selling cake decorations.

While she said it is only a small business, she often sends her products all over Australia.

She has also judged at many cake competitions over the years, including Mount Gambier.

She said she loved bringing her skills to Mount Gambier/Berrin.

I love it, they’re lovely ladies over there,” she said.

The workshop is for beginners and beyond and Ms Morris encouraged anyone who might be interested to come along, as it is a chance to learn some new skills as well as an opportunity to meet like minded people.

The workshop will run from 9am to 4pm on Saturday February 24 at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds.
