A second round of community vision forums will be held in Wattle Range Council townships next week.

In November last year, community forums were held in Mount Burr, Southend and Tantanoola.

Wattle Range Council is now giving larger communities the opportunity to develop their community vision.

A community forum will be held next week in Millicent, Beachport and Penola, with a barbecue included.

Mayor Des Noll said the community forums held last year have been successful, and encouraged community members to come along and share their ideas.

“The aim of the community vision forums is to hear the thoughts and ideas of those living in each town, helping to better guide council decision making, enhancing community vibrancy, ensuring environmental sustainability, and inspiring innovation,” he said.

“This process is an important tool in ensuring council can take a strategic approach to implementing community projects, events and initiatives, and I encourage all interested members of the communities included in this next round to come along, have a snag and get involved,” he said.

He said the council plans to hold similar events across the region later this year, and encouraged people in those areas to look out for information throughout the year.
