Stars named for community event

Seven Limestone Coast locals will take up the challenge and dance the night away to raise money for Stand Like Stone.

The 2024 Swinging With the Stars event will see tradies, teachers and community leaders all raising money for their chosen sub fund within the charity.

Each participant will be busy fundraising in the lead up to the June event, where one will be named the 2024 Swinging with the Stars Champion.

Chris Williams is the owner and operator of Chris Williams Painting, a life member of South Gambier Football Club and will be raising funds for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Sub Fund.

Livestock Agent at Elders Lucindale Nathan McCarthy will be raising funds for the Stand Like Stone Foundation General Sub Fund.

Also raising money for the general sub fund will be Tyler Michielan who is an electrician at Godrik Construction and Electrical and an International soccer player.

Cory O’Connor is a teacher at Penola High School and will be raising funds for the Penola Coonawarra Wellbeing Sub Fund.

Robe registered nurse Bec Hurst will be raising funds for the Poppy Crozier Memorial Scholarship Sub Fund.

Ella Boston, a Naracoorte-based 2023 school graduate and SSO at Naracoorte High School, will raise funds for the Naracoorte and Districts Sub Fund.

Raising funds for the Grant High School Student Scholarship Sub Fund will be Grant High School teacher and Mount Gambier Theatre Group member Shekinah Horsburgh.

Finally, Kezia Feast, a teacher at both Allendale East Area School and Glenburnie Primary School, will raise funds for the Steven Noble Memorial Sub Fund.
