Christmas lunch brings community together

A strong team of volunteers worked hard to feed everyone on the day.

It was another successful year for the Mount Gambier Community Christmas Lunch for 2023, with 170 people booked for meals and 10 take away meals.

Working hard on the day were 23 volunteers, who gave up their time on Christmas Day to make it possible for the community to enjoy.

Preparation and planning for the day begins in February, with support from local companies, businesses, Schools and the local Mount Gambier Community every year.

Cooking up a storm for the guests was chef Cari Merret, who cooked 25 kilograms each of beef, lamb and turkey, 20 cauliflowers, 20 kilograms of potatoes and pumpkins and 10 kilograms of carrots.
