Cake designer end of the year

ENJOYABLE DINNER: Pat Jones and Lorna Thompson enjoy their dinner at the end of year celebrations.

THE South Eastern Cake Designers (SECD) held their Christmas function to celebrate the year at Jens Hotel.

A joyful year of sugar creative designs ended with a merry time had by all.

The club makes a donation to charity instead of a Kris Kringle to members.

Each member places a donation in an envelope with their favourite charity named on the front.

The envelope drawn receives the pooled donations and the Royal Flying Doctors Service was the charity selected.

The club will now break for two months and meet again on the third Monday of each month from February to November.

It will continue from 7pm in the Mount Gambier Agricultural and Horticultural Show Society committee room.

The next meeting will be held on February 19 with new members welcome.

The club will also host a hands on cake topper workshop on February 24 with Rhonda Morris from Victoria.

The toppers can be removed and used again if desired with Ms Morris known as an amazing and adept demonstrator.

Arrival time for the workshop will be 9am for a 9.30am start with lunch, tea and coffee supplied.

Those wishing to RSVP are encouraged to contact June Jones on 0438 234 978 prior to February 14.
