Participation numbers were high in recent workshops which aimed to help attendees master challenging conversations.

Hosted by Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC), two sessions were delivered to 73 participants from around the Limestone Coast.

The sessions covered a range of topics including effective listening, understanding communication styles and barriers, and conflict resolution.

RDALC chief executive David Wheaton said it was important to build these communication skills and the workshops had proven popular.

“The popularity of the workshops, and the feedback received, highlights the importance of enhancing communication skills for professional development and growth in the workplace,” he said .

Feedback received confirmed the importance of these workshops with participants saying it was “one of the best sessions” they had attended and “we can’t hear this content enough, excellent presentation”.

The session was part of a series of initiatives supported by the state government’s Regional Workforce Connector and Collaboration Program, designed to address workforce gaps and support Limestone Coast

businesses in their journey to become employers of choice.

Communication is one of the five pillars in the ‘Employer of Choice’ Toolkit developed by RDALC, which can be downloaded from their website.

The resource offers valuable insights and tools for creating an inclusive, caring, and thriving workplace.
