St Martins Lutheran College will welcome Celia Mara to its ranks next year as the experienced school leader takes on the deputy principal role.

Ms Mara has 30 years experience and has held leadership roles in K-12, co-ed, and girls’ schools.

Principal Alan Connah said Ms Mara would be an asset to the team.

“I’m thrilled, I think she’s going to bring a huge array of expertise and experience,” he said.

“She’s got a depth of experience working in teaching and learning and improving teaching and learning specifically. She also has a lot of experience working in wellbeing and pastoral care.”

“It’s fantastic to be able to attract such a candidate to work in our college and somebody who really wants to come and live in this beautiful part of the world.”

Mrs Mara will replace outgoing deputy principal Kat Elliot, a cherished staff leader who has returned to Adelaide for personal reasons.

The school community thanked Mrs Elliot for her lasting contribution.
