AEU not backing down with second strike

ONE MORE TIME: Members of the Australian Education Union (AEU) are preparing to strike for the second time this Thursday.

A SECOND Australian Education Union (AEU) strike is set to hit the streets of Mount Gambier once again, as the fight for better pay and fairer working conditions carries on.

The decision was made after 83 per cent of AEU sites voted to proceed with the strike if an acceptable offer could not be made during a meeting on Monday November 6.

A final outcome could not be reached during the Monday meeting, leading to more strikes in Adelaide at the steps of Parliament House, as well as in Mount Gambier kicking off from the Railway Lands.

The Mount Gambier AEU strike is scheduled to take place in front of the Limestone Coast Department of Education and Children’s Services on Thursday November 9 at 10am.
