Artworks from students at St Martins Lutheran College will be on display in the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre in their exhibition See. Make. Inspire.

The exhibition will include a diverse range of mediums and themes from students of all ages.

School art faculty head Rebekah McDonald said having work displayed a the Riddoch was good exposure for budding artists.

“It might give them the confidence in the future to actually approach galleries and look at having their work made available too,” she said.

“It’s good to see them put so much effort in.

“The quality of work is really high.”

Year 12 student Ngarrindjeri woman Nikita Anderson will have two series of dot paintings on show, with her centre piece a reflection of Ngarrindjeri Country and her love of water.

“It’s a huge part of my identity to be able to create work, to be able to express myself in language, and still put a modern spin on Aboriginal artwork,” she said.

There will be awards for photography, mixed media, art film, design, print, drawing, painting, and overall best in show judged by local artist April Hague, as well as a people’s choice award.

The exhibition will have a private opening night, before opening to the public on Friday, October 27, until Friday, November 10.
