MOUNT Gambier/Berrin’s first South East Nations Netball team registrations have come along nicely with the committee now calling out for sponsors.

The team will be the first in the region to go along to the South Australian Nunga Netball Carnival.

Committee chairperson Danni Smith said SE Nations were starting to get regular attendance with training sessions and grow in terms of community engagement.

“We have had a really good response from community members, which just encourages the committee to continue to seek sponsorship to make our inaugural participation a reality,” Ms Smith said.

“The community have been really supportive of the SE Nations initiative and we encourage local businesses to get behind us and show their support.”

Ms Smith said the teams would aim to enter about six teams into the carnival which will be held later this year.

“With all teams involved this could potentially lead SE Nations to have 60 players with 10 per team plus officials,” she said.

“We are always on the look out for further sponsorship within our community to assist in our successful participation.

“We encourage businesses and individuals across the Limestone Coast to sponsor or send in donations to further assist SE Nations in our inaugural participation in the Nunga Netball Carnival and for them to keep an eye out for fundraising events with the next one being a sausage sizzle during the Mount Gambier Netball Association’s Indigenous round on July 1.”
