COMMUNITY foundation Stand Like Stone (SLS) has opened its second round of the Friends Champion grant for applications and has invited community and not-for-profit groups in the Limestone Coast to apply for up to $3,200.

SLS chief executive Roger Babolka said these grants were thanks to the foundation’s new ‘Friends of Stand Like Stone’ membership which enabled local people and organisations to become philanthropists for the Limestone Coast community.

“A key aspect of this exciting initiative was the ability to not only enable the local community support the ongoing operations of the foundation, but also enable an annual grant to be given out each year, called the Friends Champion Grant,” he said.

“Initiatives such as the Friends of Stand Like Stone enables us to respond to the needs of the people and communities of this region, ensuring local projects receive the support they deserve,”

The grant is open to projects in the Limestone Coast which have a focus on community health and well-being, education, welfare, the arts, inclusion, animal welfare, community development, religion and the environment.
