ARTISTS living with disabilities will be putting their works on display for the community at a new exhibition in May.

The free public exhibition, dubbed ‘Bring Your Imagination to Life’, will showcase original artworks from Dream to Create’s art program.

Works including paintings, drawings and sculptures will be put on show at the Little Blue Wren art gallery.

Dream to Create manager Jodi Manifold said it was great to be able to show the artworks to the wider community through the exhibition.

“Art is a creative outlet for many of our clients and this exhibition provides an opportunity for our clients to share their passion with the wider community,” she said.

“Here at Dream to Create, we believe in the abilities of the people that we support.

“We are proud to provide the opportunity for self-expression through our programs and we are proud to encourage creativity and watch the artists flourish.”

Little Blue Wren owner Gareth Williams said the exhibition was important to show that the arts is accessible to absolutely everyone.

“At Little Blue Wren we believe that the arts have the capacity to brings us all together; it changes us and changes our communities,” Mr Williams said.

“To this end, we have partnered with Dream to Create, and have been showcasing one artist from their program on a rotating basis every fortnight, displaying their work in our gallery.

“Hosting a dedicated Dream to Create exhibition was a natural progression of this idea, and an opportunity for the families and communities of these artists to come in and celebrate the program participant’s creativity.”

The exhibition will be open from Friday, May 5 until Thursday, May 18.
