REGIONAL Development Australia Limestone Coast’s (RDALC) Emerging Leaders Program is officially underway for 2023 following its first workshop at the start of April.

The first workshop, held over Tuesday, April 4 in Robe and Wednesday, April 5 in Kingston SE, saw 23 participants come together to begin their leadership journeys.

Facilitated by trainers from Leaders HP and Aurora Meliora, the first workshop focused on self-awareness, strengths, values and understanding others.

Leaders HP director Matt Cesaro said the program was off to a great start.

“It was great to see the diversity in the group and their willingness to show up authentically and ask great questions,” he said.

“Their passion for making a positive impact in their communities is evident.

“We look forward to supporting them through the remainder of the program as we start to explore some of the fundamentals of leading change.”

Emerging Leaders Program participant Jaime Virgin said she was eager to build on her existing skills and knowledge.

“I am excited to continue to work with the trainers and the rest of the group that are from such a variety of our regions services and industries,” she said.

“We have only just met but we already have a strong connection.”

RDALC chief executive David Wheaton spoke to the participants on day one, and said it was great to discuss the importance of developing leadership capacity to future proof the region.

The second workshop will be held in early May in Port MacDonnell.
