The Mother’s Day Classic is returning to Mount Gambier/Berrin next month and chief executive officer of the national event Zara Lawless is excited.

Ms Lawless said there would be 73 locations across Australia hosting a fun run for breast cancer research, and Mount Gambier/Berrin was one of three events in South Australia.

“Over 1.5 million people have participated in the Mother’s Day Classic for breast cancer research in the past 25 years, donating $41.5 million, and each year we are building on the success of the event,” she said.

She said the smaller community events, like the one on the Limestone Coast would have strong community support.

Ms Lawless encouraged everyone to sign up for the Mother’s Day Classic to make a difference in breast cancer research.

“By signing up for the Mother’s Day Classic you are joining a passionate, pink, and purpose-driven community united in the fight against breast cancer,” she said.

“We cannot wait to see everyone suiting up, showing up and standing stronger together on Mother’s Day and as we bring communities back together across Australia.”

The route for the local fun run will follow the 3.6 km path around Blue Lake/ Warwar beginning near Crouch Street, on Sunday, May 14.
